Description
The Metamorphoses Chapter is a series of 29 different prints, that retranslate the whole of Book III from a 1735 copy of Ovid’s Metamorphoses. This is part of a body of work that Sarah calls ‘Biological Hermeneutics’ – the translation of text through artistic and scientific enquiry. To create these prints, Sarah developed a unique printing technique working with Simon Park from Surrey University. The Metamorphoses Chapter was awarded the Nova Award in recognition for its risk and innovation.
It was premiered in full at Chethams Library, Manchester, UK in 2017.
